Casualty Simulation
Medical professionals across the world rely on immersive medical training to help them deliver life-saving care. Without it, putting theory into action can have devastating consequences.
The importance of realism cannot be overstated. At SIMBODIES, we believe Casualty Simulation (CASSIM) transforms learning experiences into real clinical skills. Crucial to this are well-trained and experienced make-up artists and trauma casualty actors, to support a wide range of exercises and scenarios.
Make-Up Artists
Taking hair and make-up to a whole new level, our experienced make-up artists play an important role in delivering realistic CASSIM. They have vast medical knowledge having forensically studied real wounds to inform their efforts. That means they can expertly apply, remove and clean a range of injuries, from the basic bruising, pallor changes and minor wounds, to more serious ailments such as burns and catastrophic wounds.
They, of course, also take advantage of our industry-leading products. Our Simulation Sleeves and Simulation Wound prosthetics have been designed especially for those injuries that require that little extra detail, such as fractures or penetrating wounds. All of our CASSIM services are planned to the nth degree too; with years of experience, our Make-Up Artists can deliver multiple wounds and injuries at a schedule that suits.
Trauma Casualty Actors
At SIMBODIES, we have a vast network of professional Trauma Casualty Actors (TCA). These include specialist amputee actors who enable us to re-create amputation scenarios that add traumatic, but realistic immersion to any training event. All of our actors have medical and/or military knowledge to help them better understand what is happening at every stage of a training scenario. They have also been well trained in how to respond to certain injuries, and how administering certain drugs can lead to different effects on the body. Whether scripted or unscripted, this makes their scenario acting as realistic as possible, therefore improving outcomes for the trainee.
